My name is Katie Green and I am the founder of The Boozy Botanist Bitters & Potions. The business was born in August of 2020 in Denver, Colorado in my small, two-bedroom apartment. I wanted to create a product line that inspired people to incorporate herbs into their artistic expression.

I graduated from The University of Colorado Denver in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Relations. I wanted to serve patients through the creative means of art therapy but, I felt limited by the available resources in the field and frankly overwhelmed by the impending debt of grad school.

The time I had spent away from the classroom made me realize how much I had missed learning.

With a little extra time on my hands, thanks to the pandemonium, I got back into the classroom and enrolled in a 500- hour herbalism certificate program through The Denver Integrative Massage School in the Herbalism Roots program. The program seemed to be the final push I needed to pursue my own small business adventure.

I have always had an interest in plant medicine, even as a child. I would pretend to be the "witch doctor" creating potions in my backyard with wild sage and dandelions, taking marbles as payment. But, I had never formally considered herbalism until 2020 rewrote all of my plans.

I am and always will be an herbalist in training; In my pursuit to become a therapist I became an herbalist instead. I believe plant medicine is art therapy.  Herbalism has provided me a creative outlet and a way to aid in others' wellness journey. And all it took was a global pandemic to become the artist, entrepreneur and crazy-plant-lady I was destined to become.
